What we hold, and what we do not

A service that asks to sit on your windscreen owes you a direct answer about what it knows. This is that answer.

Your number is not how anyone reaches you

Your phone number is never shown to anyone who scans your sticker, never travels in a notification, and is never the route a caller uses to reach you.

A caller never dials it, never sees it, and never learns it. The call reaches you through the app on your own device, not through your number.

What we never store

  • The name or identity of whoever scans your sticker
  • A history of where your vehicle has been
  • Contact details for the person calling you

What we do store

Your account

The account you sign in with, and the stickers and devices linked to it.

Sticker records

Which stickers exist, whether they are active, silenced or revoked, and when ownership changed. Ownership history is kept so a disputed sticker can be settled.

Call records

That a call happened, between which sticker and which owner, and how it ended. Kept for a limited period so a dispute can be looked into, then deleted.

Abuse-prevention records

A minimal record of scan and call attempts, so a sticker cannot be used to harass someone. Kept coarse on purpose, and deleted on a schedule.

Retention periods are not final yet

Everything above is deleted on a schedule rather than kept indefinitely. The exact periods are still being settled, so we are not publishing figures we might have to change. When they are fixed, they will be stated here.

Scanning is deliberately forgetful

The code on your sticker travels in the part of a web address that browsers never send to a server, so it does not appear in server logs. The scan page clears it from the address bar as soon as it has read it, and does not save it on the device.

There is no analytics on the scan page and no third-party script of any kind on it. That page loads from us and from nowhere else.

xNocall is not built to be a record of where vehicles have been, and is not intended to become one.

What you can do

You can silence a sticker temporarily, which stops it connecting anyone while it stays on the car. You can revoke it permanently, which stops the printed code working for everyone, including anyone who photographed it. And you can decline any individual call simply by not answering.

The limits of this service

  • A printed code can be photographed

    The QR code on your sticker is printed in the open, so anyone who can see your car can photograph it and scan it later from somewhere else. Nothing printed on a surface can prevent that, and xNocall does not claim to. What it gives you instead is containment: if a code is being misused, it can be revoked and replaced with a new one, and the old code stops working.

  • A call may not reach your phone

    Getting an incoming call onto a phone depends on the mobile operating system, the manufacturer, battery-saving settings, and the network at that moment. On Android in particular, delivery cannot be guaranteed by any application. xNocall does not promise that every call will ring on your device.

  • No speed promise

    xNocall publishes no figure for how quickly a call arrives, and does not describe itself as instant. A speed claim only means something with a stated start point, end point, percentile and device group behind it. Until those are measured on real usage, quoting a number would be inventing one.

  • Not every scan becomes a conversation

    Someone may scan your sticker and never place a call. You may be driving, asleep, out of signal, or simply choose not to answer — answering is always your decision. A scan is a request, not a connection.

  • Not a vehicle-tracking system

    xNocall is not built to record where your car has been, and is not intended to become that. Scan information is kept to what is needed to stop abuse, and is deleted on a schedule rather than retained indefinitely.

This is a description, not a legal notice

This page explains how the system behaves. A formal privacy notice under a named legal framework has not been published yet, and we are not going to imply one exists.
